Story Posted: December 22, 2010 Change in Executive Director Klaus: The Next Chapter
Family Service Saskatoon said goodbye to Klaus Gruber in late October with a potluck lunch and again on November 14th at a much larger event that featured the many chapters of Klaus’s working life. Klaus worked with Family Service Saskatoon for 8.5 years as Executive Director but his tenure with the agency began many years ago as a contract counsellor and for a time as Interim Executive Director. We know that the next chapter will be interesting and well worth reading. We wish Klaus many happy years as he turns the page for the next chapter of his life.
Introducing: Deborah Bryson-Sarauer, MSW, RSW
Deborah Bryson-Sarauer has a diverse work and personal history that led her to Family Service Saskatoon. Originally from Northern Ontario, Deborah first came to know Saskatchewan in 1964. In 1970 after a brief stint to finish high school on Vancouver Island she returned to live in Saskatchewan. Before becoming Executive Director Deborah was the Assistant Director at Family Service Saskatoon and a Sessional Lecturer at the University of Regina (Saskatoon Campus). In her previous positions, Deborah: worked for Saskatoon Health Region on a Community Based Mental Health Team in Humboldt; was the Dean at St. Peter’s College in Muenster; worked in a library; did social justice work during the Farm Crisis of the late 80’s and farmed with her husband. Deb thinks that what puts all of her life into perspective is her relationship with her family; two sons, two daughters-in-law, three granddaughters and one very well balanced husband. Deborah has degrees from the University of Saskatchewan, University of Regina, and Dalhousie University.
